Two Indian teams to chose from ??

After the dismal performance of the Indian cricket team in the 2007 World Cup, the players have gone into hiding, while the BCCI is busy trying to show that its gonna set things right. In one such flustered attempt, the BCCI president Mr.Sharad Powar, put forward his "innovative " idea of having 2 Indian cricket teams to choose from. One question Mr. Powar , instead of having the government pay double by maintaining 2 teams, why don't you ensure that more fresh, capable players are given a chance ?. Why do you people politicise cricket & complicate things ?. If a player is not in form then replace him with some new player who is in form. Don't undermine the new talent just because there is a Sachin or a Sehwag who hasn't performed for over a year & is just hatching on his previous records. It's as simple as that. I refuse to believe that we do not have enough fresh talent in our country.

I don't blame the players or the coach for the defeat. If we had a strong backbone (BCCI) consisting of good, experienced senior cricketers, everything would have automatically fallen in place. But the BCCI's strength is diluted with darned politicians & useless former cricketers (like Kiran More) who are there just to mint money. I fail to fathom what do politicians like Sharad Powar (or former BCCI president Mr. Dalmiya) know about selecting cricketers & why in the world are they even allowed to be a part of the decision ?.
Another thing that must've struck all of us, but a fact most of us conveniently chose to ignore, was that when Ganguly had stopped performing during 2005-2006, Mr. Kiran More was determined that he was not fit to remain in the team, & humiliatingly had him dropped from the team. He chose to ignore all his records as an excellent captain & as a batsman,but, he did not even feel the need to mention the other consistent non performers like Sachin & Sehwag. What's more, during his tenure, Mr. More even ensured that Ganguly didnt get back into the team even when he was performing well in the Ranji matches. Why did he target only Ganguly ? Why did'nt he give the same treatment to Sachin & Sehwag if he was genuinely concerned about the team's performance ?... Only one answer comes to my mind "Dirty Politics". He must've had other supporters in the BCCI with similar vested interests. It's difficult to believe that he single handedly influenced the entire BCCI. Anyways, he was rightly replaced by Dilip Vengsarkar who is both a good sportsman & a good person. But the very fact that people like Sharad Powar and Kiran More even exist in the BCCI indicates the need to have more stringent norms for "selection" of the selectors themselves.
